Talks might have been dormant, but they never were dead.
The Broncos' pursuit of Colin Kaepernick have gone quiet in recent weeks, but 49ers general manager Trent Baalke told ESPN on Wednesday that the possibility remains alive that the quarterback could be traded this week.
"I wouldn't say we are out there looking for it, but I wouldn't rule it out," said Baalke, reiterating what he had said a week earlier in Santa Clara.
"You never say never in this business," he said last Wednesday in The Sacramento Bee.
