The Denver Broncos entered the 2021 NFL Draft with swirling rumors around Aaron Rodgers and how much they were targeting Justin Fields with the ninth overall selection. The Rodgers rumors died and then general manager George Paton passed on Fields to select Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II.
By Day 2, the Broncos were ready to begin to make deals. First, they traded up five spots in the second round to select North Carolina running back Javonte Williams with the 35th overall pick. Then they traded down twice in the third round to pick up two picks near the end of Day 2.
