Joseph nearly got the job two years ago before Denver hired Gary Kubiak, and it's clear that John Elway has a high opinion of him.
"He has great leadership qualities and a strong vision of what it takes to win,'' general manager John Elway tweeted after Tuesday's interview. Joseph was originally scheduled to interview for the Chargers' coaching vacancy on Wednesday, but stayed in Denver after that interview on Tuesday.
Joseph has quickly risen up the coaching ranks, serving as the defensive backs coach for three different teams from 2006-2015 (49ers, Texans, Bengals) before becoming Miami's defensive coordinator in 2016. He received a lot of credit for Miami's turnaround this season, which was largely spearheaded by their defense.
