One of the topics First Take discussed Wednesday morning was the Peyton Manning incident. Specifically, the show discussed a women's right group calling on sponsors to cut ties with Peyton Manning amid the controversy.
Manning's name has been mentioned in a sexual assault lawsuit at Tennessee as an example of how Tennessee ignores and sweeps sexual assault under the rug. Manning allegedly placed his genitals on the face of a Tennessee trainer, which was brushed off at the time as a mooning attempt gone wrong. He settled with the trainer out of court.
At the time of the incident, Bayless said he simply took the Manning's family side of it being horseplay gone wrong as what happened. He no longer feels that way.
The women's group, UltraViolet, wants Mannings' sponsors like Nationwide and Papa Johns to cut ties with Manning. Skip Bayless said on First Take that if he saw a Peyton Manning commercial, be it Nationwide or Papa Johns, he'd cringe.
"I have lost a lot of respect for Peyton Manning," Bayless said.
Bayless said he'd like to hear an apology from Manning, but that a confidentiality order, which Manning has already violated once, might prevent that from occurring.
