The Denver Broncos signed safety Shiloh Keo Wednesday, only a few days after Keo tweeted at defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and asked the team to sign him.
@sonofbum I hear ya, still the same system tho. Little man is doing great. Keep me in mind tho if things don't pan out

The Broncos made the move to help boost the depth in the secondary. David Bruton and Omar Bolden both went down against the Chargers Sunday and T.J. Ward will likely miss the game this week with an ankle injury. That left the team with just two healthy safeties before the team added Keo.
Keo knows the Broncos' system, having played for Phillips in Houston. Denver made space for him by cutting QB Christian Ponder. Keo made 11 starts for the team in 2013.
Keo's familiarity with Phillips and currently Denver head coach Gary Kubiak surely helped. Keo tweeting at Phillips may have helped a bit as well.
