Those worried about the status of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's throwing arm which seemed to lose some zing as the 2014 regular season wound down have some room for optimism after wide receiver Demaryius Thomas' training camp assessment on Thursday.
"I know you're not going to believe this, but it seems like he has more zip," Thomas told reporters, via Mike Klis of 9News in Denver.
Broncos GM John Elway seconded that notion, saying that "Peyton has thrown the ball tremendously in camp."
"He looks great," Elway added.
Whether the Broncos are just towing the franchise line right now or giving an honest assessment of where Manning is at, the Broncos' prime objective this season is still to protect Manning as best as possible and keep tabs on the quad and arm issues that plagued him late in 2014.
New head coach Gary Kubiak is doing his part, overseeing the installment of a more balanced offensive attack meant to bring the ground game more into focus, especially as the weather gets colder and the season extends into the December stretch run.
