The Denver Broncos brought back the five-year veteran defensive lineman Sione Fua on Thursday, less than one year after they waived him before the start of the 2014 season.
In order to make room for Fua, the team waived punter Karl Schmitz.
Fua originally signed with the Broncos on Nov. 27, 2013 to provide depth following an injury to then-starter Kevin Vickerson and played in two games. He then played 11 games with the Cleveland Browns last year, logging 12 total tackles.
The 2011 fourth-round pick of the Panthers became an unrestricted free agent in March.
