Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson was expected to be one of the best running backs in the league in 2015, yet ended up slipping from his starting spot and splitting carries with Ronnie Hillman.
However, after a dominant playoff run that was capped off with a 90-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Super Bowl - and Hillman entering free agency this offseason - head coach Gary Kubiak is hoping Anderson will become the team's full-time featured back.
"C.J. has been playing really well in the playoffs, so we kind of went with C.J.," Kubiak said. "He had some ankle issues throughout the course of the year missing time. But I can tell you this: Late in the fourth quarter, he's screaming at me, 'Give me the ball! Give me the ball!' And that's the type of player you want."
Anderson got 23 of Denver's 28 carries in the Super Bowl and had three runs of 30 yards of more in the postseason.
The 5'8", 225-pounder racked up 720 yards and five touchdowns on 152 carries during the 2015 regular season, but had 234 yards and two touchdowns in three playoff games.
