NFL Free Agency starts on March 9th, and the next few days will feature several Denver Broncos rumors. While free agency doesn't officially start until Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday are "legal tampering" days. That means teams can discuss contracts with any player, although a deal can't be signed until Wednesday. With that in mind, here are a few of the more interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Broncos.
Peyton Manning Retires
This is official and obligatory. Manning retired Monday, ending his time with the Broncos. He goes out on top, with his final game being a Super Bowl win. The retirement saves Denver $19 million in cap space, which is much needed. Manning made the announcement in a tearful press conference.
Brock Osweiler Contract Offer
With the retirement of Manning, the Broncos should have enough cap space to re-sign QB Brock Osweiler, if they choose. Denver has upped the contract terms for Osweiler and they might not be done raising that level.
Hearing Broncos offer to Osweiler is actually $13M/yr for now. Team likely willing to go to $15m/yr. We'll see if Texans push them there

Osweiler showed promise in limited time last season and some will be starting him next year. The news of Oswelier's offer comes following a the release of a video showing a physical altercation involving Osweiler.
Could Broncos Lose C.J. Anderson?
The Broncos elected to tag the lowest possible tag on RB C.J. Anderson, meaning they won't get a draft pick in return if a team signs Anderson. Because there is no draft pick compensation, Denver could lose Anderson this offseason and there will be plenty of interest in Anderson. Teams can't officially talk to Anderson until the new league starts, because restricted free agents don't benefit from the legal tampering period. If a team wants Anderson, expect them to make an offer when the Broncos are tight on cap space, which could come later in the offseason.
