The Denver Broncos have agreed to a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for CB A.J. Bouye. The Broncos are sending a 2020 4th round pick to the Jags in the trade.
The Jaguars paid Bouye several years ago, but he struggled. This move helps free up cap space for a team tight on it. The Jags save nearly $11.5 MM with this move and net another draft pick.
The Jaguars have 10 picks this year, including two in the 1st round and two in the 4th round. The loss of Bouye, coupled with the previous trade of Jalen Ramsey, leaves a huge hole at CB for Jacksonville.
The addition of Bouye could spell the end of Chris Harris' time in Denver. There will be free agent interest in him and the Broncos aren't expected to tag him. Bouye is under contract for 2 more years with the Broncos and is due to make roughly $13.5 MM.
The Broncos also have the likes of Duke Dawson, Isaac Yiadom and Bryce Callahan under contract at CB. The need is not filled with just Bouye. Re-signing Harris is still an option, although his market should be strong.
