When you have Peyton Manning as your starting quarterback, you're never the underdog in a battle of quarterbacks. However, these next five guys will still present one heck of a challenge for the Denver Broncos as the 2015 NFL schedule progresses. Here's our list of The 5 Toughest QBs The Broncos Will Face In 2015.
5. Matthew Stafford (September 27th)
We're giving Stafford the nod at #5 instead of the likes of Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco for two reasons. First, Calvin Johnson. That pretty much explains itself. Secondly, this game is a Sunday Night Football contest in Detroit, meaning that Stafford will have the emotion of a raucous "made for national TV" audience behind him.
4. Philip Rivers (December 6th, January 3rd)
Contract situation aside, Rivers is the ultimate competitor and one of the more deadly pocket passers of the past two decades. With Melvin Gordon providing a youthful spark in the rushing game and a decoy when needed, Rivers will have plenty of time on three- and five-step drops to find his impressive array of receiving options from the tight ends on out.
3. Tom Brady (November 29th)
Some may see this as blasphemy ranking the reigning Super Bowl-winning quarterback this far up the list, but the two superstars ahead of them aren't coming off an offseason complete with a four-game suspension and the distinct smell of deflated footballs (do they have a smell??) wafting off of him.
2. Andrew Luck (November 8th)
Andrew Luck is the type of near-perfect quarterback that'd still make you shake your head if you created him in Madden. With additional weapons like Frank Gore and Andre Johnson at his disposal, the Colts signal caller may be on his way to one of the most impressive single-season efforts in NFL history. Luck/Manning is always a blast, and this one will be no different.
1. Aaron Rodgers (November 1st)
The week before the Broncos head to Indy to face off with Peyton Manning's former team, he'll be on another marquee with perennial MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers at Sports Authority. Rodgers makes every one of his offensive weapons look that much better just by throwing them the ball -- just like Manning. What a fun first two weeks of November we're going to have.
