Prior to Sunday's 24-13 AFC Divisional Playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos starting quarterback Peyton Manning said that he had no plans of retiring after the Broncos' season was over.
According to CBS Sports play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz, Manning doesn't appear so sure anymore.
“He actually told us that ‘I’m gonna wait and see, I can’t really in my heart tell you anything for sure right now,” Nantz said, via NBC's Pro Football Talk. “My intention is to play, but things have changed since I last said that.'”
Prior to Christmas, Manning's mood on the matter of returning was a lot different.
“I certainly plan on being back if the Broncos will have me,” Manning said, via Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Manning's comments to Nantz and the team's crew reportedly came during CBS' pregame production meetings, so his comment can't be attributed to the emotions of this loss. After the Broncos' second one-and-done in three playoff trips, nothing appears to be settled right now in the Mile High City.
