The latest Denver Broncos rumor concerns when All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady could return from the severe foot injury he suffered late in Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Clady is a three-time Pro Bowler, along with being a two-time All-Pro left tackle who played 82 consecutive games for the Broncos after being drafted back in 2008. The team has started pretty well this year, with their offense firing on all cylinders as they scored 90 points in their first two games.
Experts are predicting that quarterback Peyton Manning might find things difficult if Clady is out for an extended period. It was last season when Clady got his first team All-Pro honors, and since then he's led one of the league’s top offensive lines. The Broncos have allowed 21 sacks in that time span, the second-best total in the NFL.
Clady could be out as little as four weeks, and in that ideal scenario the Broncos wouldn't have to place him on the injured reserve at all. If the injury to Clady's foot is more severe, he could be placed on the Injured Reserve list with a designation to return or just placed on the IR proper. The second option would end Clady's season, but if he's designated for return he could be back after 8 weeks.
If Clady won’t be able to play, then Chris Clark is next in line for the position. Clark Began his career as an undrafted rookie, but Monday he signed a two-year contract extension with the Broncos.
Fans will assume that the team won’t be the same without Clady’s presence on the offensive line, but even without him there will always be the Manning factor. Regardless of the starting lineup, Manning has always proven he can get everyone on the offense to play their very best football.
