Denver Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan suffered a bone fracture above his left knee in Sunday's victory over the Jets - an injury that could cause him to miss significant time during the middle of the 2014 NFL season.
Head coach John Fox revealed that tests on Monday uncovered a crack in the bone "just above the knee," per Andrew Mason of the team's official website. Trevathan missed the first three games of the 2014 season with a fracture in the same knee, however Fox indicated that this current fracture is in a higher spot and thus isn't “remotely the same"
As reported by Josh Alper of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "a fractured kneecap seems likely to keep Trevathan off the field for a bit. Fox didn’t want to talk timelines, but Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that he’ll miss three to six weeks while recovering from the injury."
Brandon Marshall replaced Trevathan after the injury and is likely to start in his place in the interim.
