Despite coming down with the game-tying two-point conversion at the end of regulation against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas stated on Wednesday that he's not "playing to my highest potential" so far in 2014.
The biggest concern for Thomas has been a case of the drops, as the dynamic wideout has four already in the first three weeks of 2014. With this being a contract year, many have speculated that the pressure of next year's potentially huge payday is weighing on him.
“Nah, the contract is not part of it. The contract is going to work out by itself. I can’t really do nothing about it,” Thomas said, via the Denver Post and NBC's Pro Football Talk. “Either you play well or you don’t. There’s no dollar signs involved when I’m playing football. All I care about is winning. So when I can’t make the play, the reason I’m upset is I’m not helping the team win.”
Thomas indicates that he has a hard time relaxing after a drop - something that could very well be cured by some relaxation and refocusing during the Broncos' current bye week.
