Brock Osweiler, picked 57th overall in the 2012 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos has already been declared the "QB of the future" for the Broncos by GM John Elway.
The Broncos made the biggest offseason acquisition this year, landing future hall of fame QB Peyton Manning in free agency. Thus, drafting Osweiler was a bit of a surprise at first glace. But the Broncos GM was brilliant to draft him as the heir to Peyton's current throne in Denver.
While Peyton is the starting QB, Osweiler will have several years to train in the Denver system and develop. Osweiler will serve as Manning's understudy and will learn what he can from Manning until Peyton is ready to move on.
In a SportsCenter update Mark Schlereth discusses Osweiler's potential impact with the Broncos. In the update (below) Schlereth praises the Broncos for this acquisition and speculates Osweilers potential as an NFL QB.
