Denver's CBS4 is reporting TJ Ward, the safety who recently inked a 4 year/$22.5 million deal with the Broncos in March is wanted in connection with a May incident that took place at a Denver nightclub.
CBS4 has learned that Denver police issued an arrest warrant Thursday for Denver Broncos strong safety T.J. Ward, a prized free agent pickup.
According to documents reviewed by CBS4, Ward is wanted in connection with an incident that took place May 9 which is categorized both as an assault and disturbing the peace.
Ward started all 16 games last season for the Browns, recording 123 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and 10 passes defended.
Broncos GM John Elway announced the deal in March, and currently regrets forgetting to specify that the added toughness should occur on the field.
Excited to announce we've agreed to terms with strong safety T.J. Ward. He'll bring energy and toughness to our secondary.
