The Denver Broncos are one of 32 NFL teams who are thinking big with a clean slate heading into the 2015 NFL regular season. However, while other teams may be grasping at a pipe dream, the Broncos are legit contenders who will easily slide into the playoff mix after the November/December stretch run. Here's 4 Reasons Why The Denver Broncos Will Make The Playoffs.
The Fall Of The Patriots
In case you’ve been in isolation this offseason, the New England Patriots’ 2015 title hopes were partially…deflated…after Tom Brady got hit with a four-game suspension for his role in (hashtag) DeflateGate. While that’s not enough to write the Pats off, it’s enough to open the door for AFC contenders like the Broncos should New England scuffle early on with unproven Jimmy Garoppolo at the helm and fail to make up the ground he ends up losing.
We don't expect the Broncos to end up in the AFC Wild Card muck, but if so this makes one potential free-falling contender for Denver to leapfrog.
Defense! Defense!
Aqib Talib. Von Miller. DeMarcus Ware. Chris Harris. The Denver Broncos’ 2015 defense will be a cup overflowing with elite, proven commodities. From a pure individual talent perspective, there are very few defenses out there that can hang with the Broncos, let alone offenses. The fact that the unit has had time together to foster cohesion and trust is only going to be icing on the defense's cake of awesomeness.
The Demaryius Thomas Factor
If Thomas doesn’t go in the top few slots of your fantasy football draft, it’s a travesty of justice. Demaryius’ breakout 2014 season is only the tip of the iceberg for one of the NFL’s truly elite playmakers. His presence alone and the double teams that will come along with it should open the Broncos offense for other impact performers to shine. Add in the all-world stats that he’s bound to put up, and there’s really no chance for opponents to stop Denver's offense for long when he's on the field.
Peyton Freaking Manning
The future Hall of Famer has many great facets to his overall game, but it's his "eff you" mentality when it comes to silencing haters and doubters which will lead to big things in 2015. A motivated Peyton Manning is a dangerous Peyton Manning, and he'll head into the regular season with his tail on fire and a chip on his shoulder in what could very well be his final NFL season. He won't let the Broncos fall out of the playoff mix. Not this year. Not with this team.
