The Denver Broncos struggled in 2017 after winning the Super Bowl in 2016. 1.) Alex Okafor, DE
The Broncos struggled in 2017 getting after the quarterback with only 33 sacks. The Broncos need to have a dominant defense that can get after the quarterback if they have any chance of dethroning the Chiefs. Okafor recorded a career-high 43 tackles and 4.5 sacks in only 10 games with New Orleans last season. He will come at a discounted price after tearing his Achilles in Week 11.
2.) E.J. Gaines, CB
The Broncos secondary has been one of their biggest strengths over the last few seasons. The Broncos lost Aqib Talib in free agency and now need a corner opposite Chris Harris Jr. E.J. Gaines may not be a true No. 1 corner, but he's definitely a quality starter. When looking back at the top Broncos defenses they were anchored by solid corner play. Gaines and Harris would be a great duo.
3.) Eric Reid, S
Sticking with the secondary, Reid would be an excellent addition on the back end of that group. The Broncos have two undrafted players starting at safety and Reid would bring toughness to Denver. At 26 years old, Reid is still a young player who has proven to be one of the better cover safeties in the league - when healthy. He has missed 12 games over the last two seasons, but that may just drive his price down.
