The Denver Broncos are heading into a crucial offseason as they try to recapture their 2015 dominance after a down 2016. As such, they need to re-sign some of their key free agents. Here are the three key Broncos players who are free agents this offseason.
OLB DeMarcus Ware
Ware will be 35-years-old when the 2017 season kicks off, and it's clear that his career is starting to wind down. Injuries limited him to just 10 games last season, and he recorded a career-low four sacks. However, Ware is crucial to what Denver's defense does. Expect him to return on a short-term deal.
NT Sylvester Williams
Similarly, Williams has cemented himself as an important run stopper in the middle of Denver's defense. His tackles have increased in each one of his four years in the league and has shown the ability to get pressure on the quarterback as well. He's an impact player that could provide good value for the Broncos on the right contract.
RB Justin Forsett
Forsett bounced around the league last year after being released by the Ravens, playing for the Lions as well before joining Denver. He would only be a backup to C.J. Anderson, but Forsett showed he could still make an impact, rushing for 90 yards on 22 carries against Oakland in the season finale. He's an experienced, talented backup that Denver could re-sign for cheap. Investing in the running game is also important given Denver's quarterback situation.
