The Denver Broncos might have a new coach, but they’ll be trying not to change too much about the formula that brought them three straight 12-win seasons.
Heading into the 2015 NFL Draft, there are still a few areas Denver will look to improve. Expiring contracts, aging stars and free agency have left the Broncos with a few areas they can address – who are they targeting in the first round to fill those needs?
OT Ereck Flowers – Miami
Flowers plays with a true edge and a pronounced chip on his shoulder, and that aggressiveness will serve him well in the NFL trenches. The Broncos desperately need to keep Manning upright and healthy, and Flowers’ impressive size/strength combination could be just what the team needs to plug that hole right up.
OL La’el Collins, LSU
Denver is looking to sure up their offensive line to help keep quarterback Peyton Manning healthy, obviously their top priority. Collins has the size, strength, and footwork to be an impact player right away on the next level, and he’d be an immediate upgrade for the Broncos.
TE Maxx Williams, Minnesota
Denver has a major hole to fill at tight end with the departure of Julius Thomas, and Williams is the best on the board. The Broncos desperately need a reliable pass catcher over the middle, and Williams would give that to them right away.
