The U.S. men’s national soccer team scored an off-the-field victory Monday, receiving a commitment from Spanish-based midfielder Yunus Musah ahead of next week’s friendlies in Europe and the start of 2022 World Cup qualifying this fall.
“It was pretty clear for me to decide to play for the United States,” Musah said in a statement issued by the U.S. Soccer Federation. “It makes sense to represent the country I was born in. The moment I decided to play for the United States came one day when my heart told me that this was the best place for me.
