Which U.S. (and Mexican and Canadian) cities would host World Cup in 2026?

With the unveiling of a long preliminary list of potential host cities Tuesday, we will get our first glimpse at what a 2026 World Cup hosted by North America would look like.

The catalog, the Insider has learned, will include more than 40 U.S., Mexican and Canadian metropolitan areas expressing interest in staging portions of the 48-team tournament.

The United States, which will stage 60 of the 80 matches, has more than 30 venue candidates, including most every big city on the map, from Boston to Los Angeles and Miami to Seattle. Mexico, which would have 10 matches, will propose three locations (Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey).
