Wednesday’s Copa America Centenario slate features the tournament’s second semifinal.
Chile vs. Colombia in Chicago, 8 p.m. Eastern (Fox Sports 1, Univision)
Their most recent outings could not have been more disparate: Colombia, a penalty-shootout escape artist against Peru after a scoreless quarterfinal draw, takes on Chile, 7-0 butcher of Mexico. Their most recent meeting could not have been more even: Colombia, fifth in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, played Chile, fourth, to a 1-1 draw in Santiago in November.
So what comes next? It’s more likely the latter than the former, although the Chile that ran rampant Saturday would certainly — if its prolific play is somehow sustainable — be a force to be reckoned with.
