Watch the Washington Spirit’s Rose Lavelle score in a World Cup gosh-darned Final!

The United States were hanging onto a narrow 1-0 lead against a difficult Netherlands side, but Rose Lavelle of the Washington Spirit had just about enough of the tension. Receiving a pass near midfield from Sam Mewis, Lavelle stormed forward from midfield before firing a low shot past Sari van Veenendaal to give the USWNT a 2-0 lead.

BEHOLD!

Lavelle, who once again plays for the Washington Spirit, your local NWSL club, had so much to do here. In a game that was very rarely open, this was one of the few moments where the Dutch were a bit disconnected between the defense and midfield, and in classic ruthless USWNT fashion, Lavelle pounced.
