Christian Pulisic will return to the U.S. men’s national soccer team for a 2022 World Cup qualifying showdown with Mexico next week, but Sergiño Dest has been lost to a back injury.
Coach Gregg Berhalter on Thursday included Pulisic on his 25-man squad for the Concacaf matches against its archrival Nov. 12 in Cincinnati and a visit to Jamaica on Nov. 16. However, the Chelsea attacker’s fitness and influence will be tested after a two-month absence that ended Tuesday with a late appearance in an UEFA Champions League match against Malmö (Sweden).
He is expected to be in uniform again Saturday for a Premier League game against Burnley before reporting to U.
