United’s woes in front of goal continued in 2-0 loss to Toronto FC

Saturday night’s task for D.C. United, based on 2017, was always going to be an uphill battle against Toronto FC. Late in 2016, when United was one of the best scoring teams in the league, the Black-and-Red came to Toronto, and beat the Reds 2-1, thanks to goals from Lamar Neagle. That win had plenty of elements of surprise, given the gulf in each team’s makeup, despite the hot streak United were on at the time.

2017 though has been a different story though. United have struggle time after time to score goals, coming into the game having been shut out 9 times in 14 games.
