Two quick second half goals see NYCFC past D.C. United

David Villa and Khiry Shelton scored in a space of three minutes to give New York City all three points at RFK Stadium

Having picked up points in 3 of their last 4 games, D.C. United failed to keep the momentum going on Sunday night, losing 2-0 at home to New York City FC.

Alvaro Saborio had a golden opportunity to put United ahead in the first half, but the Costa Rican couldn't capitalize for his 4th goal of the season. That then allowed NYCFC to take the game in a 3 minute stretch in the second half, as David Villa and Khiry Shelton NYC all three points.
