Referees in the Premier League make bad decisions too. (Believe it or not, it’s not just MLS.) Lee Mason got it wrong Saturday when he sent off Geoff Cameron for a retaliatory blow in the late stages of Stoke City’s match at West Brom. On Monday, the FA ruled that Mason made an “obvious error” in reaching for the red card.
The penalty would have carried a three-game suspension. Instead, the American defender will be available for the first leg of the League Cup semifinals today against visiting Liverpool (3 p.m. ET, beIN Sports, beIN Sports Connect, fuboTV).
