A week after she was suspended from the U.S. national soccer team, Hope Solo on Tuesday quit her pro team.
Solo said she will skip the Seattle Reign’s last four regular season matches, leaving the National Women’s Soccer League club without arguably the world’s best goalkeeper for the playoff push. The 2015 finalists (6-5-5) are four points out of the fourth and last postseason berth.
Solo had been scheduled to make her only appearance in the D.C. area next Wednesday against the first-place Spirit (11-3-2) at Maryland SoccerPlex.
