The Washington Spirit made its third international signing of the NWSL season, announcing Wednesday that it has added Ivory Coast forward Rosemonde Kouassi to a four-year contract.
Kouassi, 22, spent the past three seasons with FC Fleury 91 in France’s top division. She had 21 goals and 12 assists in 53 league appearances and helped Fleury reach the French Cup final in May.
“For me, I wanted to take a step forward and continue to progress, confront myself with a new challenge and a new league,” Kouassi said in a news release. “I felt a very good feeling with [Washington Spirit] and the project corresponded in my opinion precisely to what I wanted to achieve.
