A three-judge panel in Barcelona on Thursday found soccer star Dani Alves guilty of sexual assault over an incident that took place at a nightclub in 2022 and sentenced him to four years and six months in prison. The panel also ordered Alves to pay the victim nearly $162,000 in compensation, and he cannot have any contact with the woman for nine years.
The victim told prosecutors that she danced and willingly entered a restroom with Alves, one of the most decorated defenders in soccer history, at a Barcelona nightclub in the early morning hours of Dec.
