Segura out 6-8 weeks, MLS changes Discretionary TAM rule, and more: Freedom Kicks for May 16, 2018

Happy Wednesday folks. There was quite a bit of news yesterday, so let’s jump right into it:

Bad news in the midfield as D.C. United will be missing Ulises Segura for 6-8 weeks after he went down with a knee injury in training.

MLS appears to be changing the rule regarding players signed via Discretionary TAM. Teams will now be able to trade those players for compensation.

Aston Villa survives against Middlesbrough and will face Fulham in soccer’s most expensive game, the Championship playoff final.

2014 World Cup hero Mario Gotze was left off the Germany roster for next month’s World Cup.
