D.C. United returned from a roster-depleted match in New England over the weekend for a roster-depleted training session Tuesday in Washington.
Steve Birnbaum (concussion), Patrick Nyarko (hamstring), Nick DeLeon (groin), Rob Vincent (knee) and Sebastien Le Toux (elbow) did not practice as the club began turning attention to Atlanta United this Sunday.
Meantime, Patrick Mullins (hamstring), Luciano Acosta (ankle) and Taylor Kemp (illness) were back at work in the rain at the RFK Stadium training grounds.
Le Toux was the most recent casualty after taking a hard fall on Gillette Stadium’s artificial turf during a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution on Saturday.
