Former D.C. United midfielder Santino Quaranta will be the new technical director of the Washington Spirit’s Baltimore-based Development Academy program. Quaranta played for United, LA Galaxy, and New York Red Bulls during his eleven seasons as a pro in addition to earning 15 caps with the USMNT. Before accepting this new role, Quaranta had been an assistant with the Spirit’s under-15 DA team.
“I’m very excited to be involved with the Spirit brand and help create a world class environment,” Quaranta said in a press release. “The opportunity to work in the Girls’ DA helping players develop with a clear pathway to youth national teams and college is fantastic.
