LONDON — Romain Gall is a Paris-born soccer player of French and Senegalese descent. His career pursuits have carried the 23-year-old attacker to the American desert and France’s northwest coast, to the capitals of Ohio and Texas, and to two small Swedish cities, before ferrying him to Sweden’s most decorated club.
But if you ask him from where he came, where he fully embraced the sport and began charting his course, he’ll say: Herndon, Va.
Long before reporting to the U.S. men’s national team for the first time earlier this month, Gall was a student at Clearview Elementary and Herndon Middle and High schools in Fairfax County.
