Nyarko, Espindola, Halsti miss D.C. United training

D.C. United midfielder Patrick Nyarko is undergoing concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the first half of the 4-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday in Carson, Calif.

Nyarko, the starting right wing, did not train Wednesday and appears doubtful for Saturday’s match against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium.

“We’re doing it the right way,” Coach Ben Olsen said. “If he’s okay for the weekend, great. If not, we’ll go without him. But that is a day-to-day situation.”

Nyarko’s departure at halftime forced a lineup adjustment: Forward Fabian Espindola entered the match, bumping Lamar Neagle, the first-half goal scorer, to the right flank.
