MLS and the players’ union Monday ratified amendments to the collective bargaining agreement, an expected outcome after they struck a tentative deal three hours before Friday’s deadline.
The league has planned for training camps to open Feb. 22 and the regular season to start April 3, but because some business was put on hold during negotiations, those dates might be pushed back at least a week, people familiar with season planning said.
“MLS players have made incredible sacrifices and overcome considerable challenges in the past year to continue doing their jobs during a difficult time for all of us,” the MLS Players Association said.
