Marco Etcheverry inducted into D.C. Sports Hall of Fame

Earlier today, Dan Steinberg tweeted out that former D.C. United midfielder Marco Etcheverry is one of 10 to make this year's class of the D.C. Sports Hall of Fame for 2016. While he is the third soccer figure to receive the honor (former Howard University coach James 'Ted' Chambers and Washington Dips/George Mason coach Gordon Bradley are the first two), Etcheverry is the first D.C. United player to join the Hall, which includes players and media personalities from D.C. sports through the years. He will join former Washington Redskins player Dexter Manley, former Georgetown Hoyas college basketball player Patrick Ewing and Washington Post columnist Christine Brennan, among others, in the class of 2016.
