Luis Rubiales, the center of a firestorm after he kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain’s victory in the World Cup final last month, resigned as president of the Spanish soccer federation, he announced Sunday.
Rubiales said he “cannot continue my work” during an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and followed that with a letter to the soccer federation in which he said he also would step down as a vice president of UEFA, European soccer’s governing body.
