MIAMI BEACH — MLS paraded 20 players and coaches through interview sessions Thursday during its media and marketing campaign ahead of the season’s kickoff in six weeks.

MLS has made considerable strides over 30 years. Stadiums have risen and the national footprint has swelled. The quality of play and level of sophistication have evolved. Players have used the league as a launchpad and a landing spot.
In other words, MLS has no plans to change its name to Messi League Soccer.
