La Liga will report racist insults aimed at Barcelona players during Saturday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid to Spain’s National Police Hate Crimes Group, and Real Madrid said it has opened an investigation into the insults.
Video appeared to show 17-year-old Spanish prodigy Lamine Yamal as the primary target of abuse at the Bernabéu after he pointed to his name on the back of his jersey following his goal, the third in Barcelona’s 4-0 win. The victory gave Barcelona a six-point lead over Real Madrid atop La Liga.
