An enduring image of the Copa America’s centennial edition may prove to be Raul Ruidiaz’s more volleyball-inspired volley that knocked out Brazil, sent Peru to the round of eight and, at least partly, led to Dunga’s perhaps overdue firing.
But the tournament has also seen more than its share of legitimate stunners — from places both traditional and otherwise, on slaloming runs and long-range missiles. Among them? A strong contender for goal of the year.
