Even under the best of circumstances, the verdict on Hernán Losada’s coaching tenets would remain unsettled for many months. He is in his first year not only with D.C. United, but in MLS, and his players are still taking to his proactive and demanding system.
But these are hardly the best circumstances, and any early assessment of Losada and United should be tabled until many projected starters are healthy.
With injuries continuing to mount, United was badly undermanned again Saturday in a 4-1 road defeat to the San Jose Earthquakes.
D.C. (1-2-0) fell behind 54 seconds into the match at PayPal Park and trailed 3-1 at halftime.
