Based on the original timetable, D.C. United’s Rob Vincent should have been close to returning to active duty by now. The English midfielder underwent surgery March 22 to repair meniscus damage in his left knee, a routine procedure sidelining a player four to six weeks.
Instead, he is facing another one to two months because of a blood clot related to the operation.
Three days after surgery, Vincent said he felt a deep, aching pain in his left calf. At first, because he had been elevating the leg, he thought it was a minor circulation issue related to the surgery.
