Edison Flores, D.C. United’s major winter acquisition, rejoined the team for indoor workouts Monday in Springfield after receiving his work visa in Peru late last week.
Completion of the legal process clears the way for the midfielder to begin full integration into the MLS squad, though a mild groin/hip strain will limit his plans this week.
Until the visa was approved, Flores was not allowed to participate in full workouts in Washington and Clearwater, Fla. Often, he worked on the side with a trainer.
United is home for a few days, then will report back to Clearwater on Wednesday for 11 days of practices and three preseason friendlies.
