D.C. United’s long trip to Orlando comes with reinforcements and a temporary loss

arrived in Orlando on Monday evening after a diagonal journey across the continent, exchanging Cascadia’s sea breezes for central Florida’s heavy air. The second lengthy leg of a week-long trip also carried roster revisions ahead of Wednesday’s match at Orlando City’s new, purple-splashed palace.

Midfielders Patrick Nyarko (hamstring) and Lloyd Sam (groin) flew in from Washington after skipping the Vancouver match Saturday. Forward Alhaji Kamara, fresh off a hat trick with the second-division Richmond Kickers, and reserve defender Jalen Robinson landed as well.

Defender Bobby Boswell (groin) returned home to rest up for this Saturday’s home game against Los Angeles.
