D.C. United use second half comeback to earn a point against New York Red Bulls

Down 2-0 after 65 minutes, Marcelo Sarvas scored from the penalty spot before Patrick Mullins tied it up with his second United goal

The weather put on its own show on Sunday at RFK Stadium, but D.C. United almost topped that in the second half, scrambling out of a two goal deficit to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls. Needing a point to keep pace with Orlando City for the sixth and final playoff spot in the East, United were spurred on by goals in a three minute span from Marcelo Sarvas and Patrick Mullins.
