D.C. United has reached verbal agreement with Israeli club Maccabi Netanya to acquire Cameroonian midfielder Boris Enow in a $2.2 million transfer deal, people close to the move said Tuesday.
Barring last-minute complications, the 24-year-old will sign a multiyear contract and become eligible when the MLS transfer window opens July 18. After that date, last-place United will have nine regular season matches left.
Enow would become the third player acquired by United ahead of the summer window, joining Austrian left back David Schnegg and MLS veteran forward Dominique Badji.
