D.C. United releases Paul Clowes

To make room for a new striker, United clears a roster and international roster spot

To make room for new signing Alhaji Kamara, D.C. United has confirmed to Black & Red United that they have released Paul Clowes. The team needed to free up both a roster spot and an international roster spot, and with starters Marcelo Sarvas and Nick DeLeon, as well as reserves Jared Jeffrey, Markus Halsti, Rob Vincent, and Julian Buescher all ahead of Clowes in central midfield, this is the move that had to happen.

When the season started, this was a team that was too heavy on midfielders and too light on forwards; the addition of Kamara helps correct that imbalance and place United in a better position as the season progresses.
